Come on! Don't pull my leg, is this real? I have read some time back in combatsim about this project but is it true? When will it come out? EF2000 was my favorite jet sim until Falcon4 came along but man this blows Falcon4 away with visuals alone! Let us know where you got these pictures!

It's not real......those pics were posted on either the F-18 or F4 board a month ago. It's screenshots from a multi-million dollar simulator. Someone got the pics and the specs for it and posted them there.

Hey guys...
This is not from any Multimillion dollar Military simulator that I know of... I have time in an F-18 simulator and an F-16 UTD and believe me the graphics are no where near as good as in Falcon4... infact they are more like Flanker 1.0 graphics... These are doctored photos....

These graphics could be very possible with current video card technology to run them on. The graphics are not that quantum leap forward compared to Falcon4. They indeed look very very good but nothing so high tech and advanced compared to Falcon4 terrain graphics. This is what sims should look like by the end of 2000 or beginning of 2001.

Wow. Silky smooth too, I'll bet.

Snowman, if you was a millionare, why not fly a real airplane. Jeez!

P2, how old was the simulator you were in? At one time Flanker 1.0 image technology and its kin was state of the art everywhere and was a long way from a desk top computer. A long, long way. Assuming that you are not an actual pilot, what was it like in the full scale cockpit?

THX-1138, I thikn its pretty easy to make terrain look really nice when its just repeating textures like in Falcon4.

The real trick though is getting those nice graphics AND non-repeating terrain!

So far the only terrain that comes close to those ideals is that seen in Flanker2.

Not only is it non-repeating but its also very accurate with the real thing.

Mailman

I recall the RAF selling off their F4 Phantoms for about $9000.00 a piece.
