Hi everybody,
I am willing to give FSclouds2000 a try, but I am not shure if my system can handle it, cause for FS2000 it's pretty weak, only a PIII-450, 128 MB, TNT2-board. A German magazin (flightXpress) said, frames are increasing. Well, that'S fine, but is it true? I would assume that fps are about to dive into the valley when more spectacular graphics come into play. Any experienced users around? Friendly on your six, Skybird out.

I haven't tried it but read from many sources that frame rates are higher with FSClouds instead of the default MS ones.

IMHO, even if the frame rate only stayed the same, it's worth it to have such beautiful clouds.

Oh, yeah. It also ads other effects like vapor trails and nice sunsets. But the clouds were awesome when I saw them at the MicroWings conference.

Skybird,

I have FS2000 Pro recently. The following is what I have captured, please check the clouds:

I have not patched it with FSclouds2000 though. Please direct me to the website for downloading.

Many thanks.

Ruben,
if I got you right you want to buy the code online!? O.K., try www.flight1.com , and a second chance is www.justflight.com . I personally prefer not to let my credit card numbers flying around in the web, so I will buy it from the shelves. In fact, tried it just an hour ago, but current stock is already sold out. I have to wait until they get resupplied! Two German guys mailed me, that fps are not a problem and in fact in most situations increasing by 2-5 frames, in dense cloud fields even up to 10-20. That's all I need to know, just wanted to be shure that fps are not decreasing. Thanks to you also, Slider! Out.

Skybird,

I don't trust e-trading over the net either.

So are you saying that mine version of FS2000 Pro does not have the FSclouds does it ?

Skybird,

Another question for you: the box says other planes are available on MS website. Does it mean they are free downloadable ?

Ruben,

According to your screenshot, you don't have FS Clouds installed. It's a third-party product and gives the clouds a more voluminous, whispy, realistic look.

The software will also add vapor trails to the sky so you'll feel like you're not alone

Ruben,
unfortunately Slider is right: you have to pay for it! You know that from your last holidays: no beautiful sunset is for free...
Looking at your screenshot: yes, it's the standard set of clouds that comes with the normal program. Your question concerning the aircraft downloads: don'T know exactly what you mean, but don'T worry: there are numerous feee downloads available, and numbers are increasing, not only planes, but also scenery and landscape. You just have to search and then get it. From the 98 edition of FS I know, that sometimes these amateur add-ons are climbing to professional quality. I personally wait to see the 2k-version of FS98's Global Update. Some of Microsoft's American cities are nicely modelled, but I like to hum around in dear old Germany and scaring the traffic guys at those places I used to walk years ago... Smile and fly, out.

Thanks Skybird, I get a clearer picture about the add-ons now. For me, I would like to ... fly over London Bridge and the Parliment House. Then fly south to Reading and Somerset then cross the English Channel to Brussels, from Brussels to Austria and last destination is Germany.
