I am not sure how this Destructo Cam works. When I select it I will see my missile and then just before it hits target it will zoom out very far and I can't really see it smash target. Is this the way it works in F/A-18 or is there a setting that I can change? It seems maybe it should follow all the way to target and impact like in USAF or F2. I mean I want to see that blasted target get hit and explode in flames

I think this is to keep you from being inside the explosion where you couldn't see anything. I don't believe there is a way to adjust when this happens (I think it happens a couple of seconds instead of a set distance).

If you press F9 at anytime after you release your weapon, it will follow your weapon where ever it goes (and this view can be maneuvered using the + and - keys on the number pad and the arrow keys), but as stated above, the view pulls back from the target a couple of seconds before weapon impact, but you can get a close-up target view (that you can maneuver using the + and - keys on the number pad and the arrow keys) by pressing F8 (I believe it has to be pressed after F9 is pressed and after weapon impact, but you can experiment with it, or someone else may reply with a more certain answer regarding this).

I just use the F9 view and after the view pulls away I count about two potatoes and hit F9 again. The same thing happens but the pullback is at a much closer range to the target and you get to see the big kaboom
