I feel really disappointed by the lack of speed in this game.
that's not a FPS problem, but I think ( at least I feel), everything is flying very slowly. I mean we are supposed to fly the "hottest" jet in the world, but where is the sense of speed ? When getting into a dogfight, I could be as well riding a bicycle.
I've read in some others threads that people were reducing the size of the planes, but does it help ?
anyway, the lack of speed is an ubiquitous problem, and I haven't found yet a jet sim that brings me the feel of speed I'm waiting for.
by comparison with falcon or F22 ADF, speed in USAF is worst than ever, so I was wondering if there was some kind of tweak
under the registry to speed up the sim and making it playable.

I agree, what's so hard about making the ground go by at a believable rate? It looks ok if you run time scaling at 2x or more, LOL.

I think the part that sucks the MOST is during a dogfight and when taking off/landing... the runway is moving SO SLOW!!

I have this voodoo3 2000(AGP)on my P2(400) system.Recently i modify this cockpits.ibx file just to display the FPS on my screen and it shows an average of "33.00 FPS" is that OK? you see guys i found it so slow it's like everything is in slow motion.
Adjusting the time compression well it helps but there's no in-flight sound....

Shosho - 33 fps is good. Anything 25+ is going to look decent, but pixie wasn't refering to frame rate, rather the "sense" of speed when you get down low. Does anybody here remember in the USNF/ATF/FA games where they had a menu option that let you speed up to like 1.33x ? Wasn't time compression or anything, more like "Fast mode" or something like that? That was pretty cool.

Maybe they have it set so slow so you don't run out of map as soon. You know, they get more flyable world that way. I don't like it, but could be the reason.

USAF has the worst sense of speed of any sim I've played since, well, Fighters Anthology!

Want the best sense of speed in any sim ever made? Try the little-known sim Joint Strike Fighter by Eidos Interactive. Made back in late 1997, but still has best graphics, terrain, and feeling of flight of any sim made since.

Is jane's F-18 gives you a sense of high speed. You see Falcon 4.0 claims to be very a realistic one, but it makes you feel you're piloting an air ballon ha...ha...Unlike in a race car sims it makes you feel you're in a 200 mph.So if you're in a Mach speed everything should be moving fast.....especially if you're near to the ground.

i was very astonish, when i saw how slow these planes were flying. its loike a bit to fast slowmotion.
manouvres like outbraking the one at your tail is impossible.
i hope they will make it faster in their next patch, but i dont belive that.
