Just got MigAlley yesterday. So far am pleasantly pleased. Reminds me of EAW alot.My question is multiplayer. Has anyone tired the new patch and have any success online? Where do people meet for online?

Snake 0 0I have serious reservations about MigAlley ability to ever be good for multiplayer. FlyingCorps Gold went through the whole alpha bet (a-y) patches and still with cable we were unable to get 2 players to work for long. If not fixed, this will be the biggest hole in MigAlley. Ill admit offline it is good despite the old style graphics.

"Actually, EAW fixed their multiplay to be pretty good so did F4 IMHO."Agreed KC23. However, both of these worked *ok* out of the box and MPS has been refining them ever since. I'm not suggesting that EAW and F4 didn't have some multiplay problems. I'm wondering if MA's multiplay can be fixed, but you would probably know more about that than I do. v1.1 should be out soon. I guess will know for sure then. ------------------ Snakeyes

Snakeyes,The good news is they are spending some serious programing time to try and get multiplay right. It is not being ignored by any means. ------------------ Ken "KC23" Cook, Senior Editor Frugal's World of Simulation http://www.frugalsworld.com/

If you're interested in MiG Alley multiplayer, don't forget to open up a new account on mplayer.com: Rowan is including DirectLobby support, which will make it possible to use services like mplayer.com itself to find MA matches on the net. www.mplayer.com It's a free service, similar to GameSpy.Max

... have mental stutter ... also a note about last nights games and the games a couple of months ago .. just noticed there does not seem to be a chat feature ... you can only (as far as i can figure out and those i have played online with) send the preprogrammed "wingman" messages just like in single player .. you evidently can edit the message content before starting game but no apparant real time "chat" .. so i guess it is voice comms or nothing .... we havent been able to get the game stable enough to try voice yet .... if we do i will report back comrad katydidski out ...

More on MA multiplay...or rather lack of...Got a couple of friends to try it online with me. We tried in vain to connect and do a simple dogfight senario. Our latency ping values ranged from 250-450ms which works fine for most sims today. We couldnt even get connected. Im getting that Flying Corps Gold lack of multiplayer deja-vu again. Here we go again, can you say patches A-Z again? I'll wait this one out till I start reading some success stories. I have other working sims to occupy my valuable time. So far, this company has shown me that it cannot do online multiplayer. Apart from that, MA is a solo gamers winner. Anna-Mouse
