Hi all, Since switching to RP4, I'm having one small problem. On about every-other mission I fly, be it TE, campaign, or IA, my screen just "freezes". And it happens randomly, from 1 minute after the start of the mission, to just before landing after completing a mission. All the sound is still there, just a frozen screen. Can anyone help me? Its not THAT big a deal(since I love this sim), but any help would be greatly appreciated. XLO-Joker.....out....

Do you have the Msvcrt.dll patch applied? What it does is delete the old msvcrt.dll in the falcon4 directory. After reboot,Falcon will use the newer one in the windows/system directory. You might know this already....sorry.

Need more info.. like what gfx card? what cpu?At a guess: If you are running an Athalon + Geforce+- SBlive! Try disabling "super-bypass" in the BIOS. Solved the problem for me. (if the option isnt in bios, you can get a little utility to help you which is mentioned on www.geforcefaq.com ) Of course if this isnt your setup it will be something else! I think others have had some success by disabling F4Turbo or lowering their AGP multiplier to normal. I suspect it is a gfx card hangup of some descripton though. Hedgehog

Joker,Everyone has suggested that your problem is a video problem. I would suggest that perhaps you need to re-install your audio drivers or perhaps an upgrade of the drivers would help. I also have a vortex based sound card (MX300) and it has given me problems from time to time. If you have the dos legacy drivers, try removing them (unless you need dos support). You also don't need to have any autoexec.bat command line references to "set blaster". Just another thought to get your ship righted! Good luck, Tex ------------------ Turn To Kill, Not To Engage

Thanks for your reply Tex, you know....,I was wondering about the sound card, have always had soundblasters in the past(and no probs.)Do you think you could explain to me how to remove the dos driver? I know I have to put "REM" in the autoexe.bat file, but im no guru, I need a better desription on exactly what to do. Thanks for any more help you can give me XLO-Joker

Thanks Hedgehog, I'm starting to think the sound card is the culprit too. I tried disabling 4x agp, but still got the same results. Waiting on a reply from Tex to give me a better explanation on how to remove the dos drivers for the sound card from my system. XLO-JOKER
