My airbases got attacked, but later were repaired. Now there are large crater marks in the runway that I guess are supposed to be patches. As other folks have said, these patches don't quite mesh with the runway, causing damage to the plane when it comes near enough. Because of that I can't land without risking running over one of these patches. Now, in Iron Fortress, you only start out with 4 airbases, and 3 of them have been damaged.

So, is there a way to edit the campaign file so that the runway will 'revert' to its undamaged state? I've looked in TacEdit but couldn't find where airport damage was located. I would really appreciate it if I could get these things working, now that they have been 'repaired'.

Roc,
Sorry I can't help you here but I just want to mention my own experience in campaign.

I started my current campaign (Rolling Fire) using RP3 (it is RP4 now). 35th FS was based at Haemi when it was attacked by Tu-16s which dropped a whole ****load of bombs which took out one of the two runways. In fact I was ingressing on a sortie when this happened.

The funny thing is that the runway when "destroyed" did not show up at all. It was just the two ends of the runway - in the middle it was just a grass/earth patch. This persisted until it got repaired - then it was back to its pristine condition, no craters or dark patches or anything. It was like as if nothing had happened. I could take off and land from the supposedly repaired runway, too.

<shrug>

One serious hack you could try is to check out the Falcon4 command line options, and use -repair (?) command. It has the effect of repairing every object in campaign when a campaign is relaunched. Check the command line options for yourself. Use a search engine to find them.

Though, as you can see, it's a serious debug-style command, and it will fix EVERYTHING. Bridges, buildings, radars... And the enemy airfields too. Also I dare to guess that since this a forceful command line option, it will not fix the runways with "repair patches" but totally renew them. A guess.

My understanding is that it will not repair units. So planes and SAM batallions are still down.

eRazor mentioned he's got it on his list to look at for his 1.09 patch. So we'll see.
