I didn't notice any frame rate drop and as a matter of fact I actually thought it was faster. I felt that during taking off but I kept quiet because I wasn’t sure of my finding. Have to look further into this.

Send you pc configuration is good, good also would be not create too much topics with the same subject. It would save sending some interesting topics to the bottom...

Another Patch problem: Some keyboard keys are remapped

Noticed this in the editor and someone else reported this in chat during online play: The patch remaps some of the keyboard keys. "Y" and "Z" are reversed and some keys like "-" print something else entirely. I noticed this myself when typing file names for missions and trk files I was saving.

FUSION,

You are right. After my post to you I went and play this whole time and I noticed as much as 50% loss in fps!

I'm running with everything set to medium + cockpit reflection + clouds.

My sys: PII 333, 128 mb Ram, TNT one and 10GiG HD.

History making patch: The first one ever to degrade framerate! And I thought it was just my imagination....

I STILL like this sim but THIS patch is a LOSER! -because it seems rather carelessly put together.

Sounds like a case of what goes around comes around, Huh. MPS went through this but with their last patch and the new forthcoming one, I think most people now realize how great a sim Falcon 4 is.

If you recall, MPSs 1st patch was a step back but they rebounded with the next one. I truely hope that by this time next year, I will feel the same way about F2 that I do now about F4.

Relax guys and give SSI a chance. Their are plenty of great sims out to tide you over until F2 reaches its full potential. I agree that some of the issues (missle behavior and enemy flight models are my only main gripes)should never have made it out, especially since it is lacking a number of features.

These guys seem commited to supporting this sim, as long as they're working the probs, I can wait. Heck I waited a year for Falcon 4.

BTW - Stinger and others who thought that the "click-pit" wasn't needed, you are correct. I strongly thought otherwise until I DLed the Demo. But I still think that remappable keys are a must, and I don't mean the utility that memics this. If what someone mentioned in the above post about the patch remapping keys is true, I wonder why this feature wasn't included.

I too have a framerate loss.
P3 450, VD3 3k with latest driver.
At least the patch allowed the latest VD3 driver, but at the expense of framerate???

A normal programmer's paradox --- you circumvent a problem/non-complience in a driver at the expence of optimal code.

Hello all, dunno what you guys are talking about because I havent noticed a drop in frame rates at all???? [shugs shoulders]

BUT what I have noticed is that the sim is 100% more playable by simply having the SAMs self explode when they loose lock....no more super sams!

I havent noticed a framerate slowdown in regular play. But I have noticed a huge drop in framerate when attempting to record. So much so that I cannot record any missions larger than 20 objects.

Since installing the patch my framerates have gone through the floor!!

My system:
Celeron 300 @450Mhz
128Mb ram,Viper 550 TNT

F2: medium settings-16 bit colour

It's so bad that I've forced to re-install the original game. I hope SSI fix this soon.

SSI,

I think that you guys need to recall this sim until it is in proper working order.

It is unplayable in its current state.

Thank you.

Taken from Spooge's post in the F4 forum:

"Dear morons,
Shut the heck up and stop talking about another patch. Stop your bitching and just play the damn game and be happy.

We have all received more than our money's worth with Falcon 4. Just quit griping and complaining and get over it.

You all are a bunch of sick individuals that are badly in need of counseling/mental health services.

Its a game, that's all.!"

This is directed at Spooge only.
Do you understand irony, dear fellow?

Heheheh.

I'd go so far as to call it "dramatic irony"!

Alex.
