Thought someone here might be able to offer some advice on a game controller problem I'm having. I have a Joyswitch Game Controller - rotary switches allow you to select the sticks, wheels, rudders, pedals that are connected. This device worked fine until I upgraded from Windows 95 to Windows 98. Now for some reason I can only use one set of controls (CH Joystick & Thrustmaster rudders) no matter what I try. Specifically I get a "NOT CONNECTED" message in the Game Control setup window of the Windows Control Panel for my second set of controls - a Thrustmaster steering wheel and pedals. Odd thing is that I can run the Thrustmaster calibration program (from windows) and it recognizes the wheel and pedals and allows me to calibrate - but the wheel only works in the calibration program. Any suggestions on what I should try???

I think you can only have one active joystick in Win98, so when you switch your joyswitch, you need to re-add the joystick.

Actually you can have up to 16 different controllers attached to Windows 98 the problem usually comes from games that don't allow you to select the controller you wish to use in the game, those usually default to the first or last controller in the Windows Game Controller ID list.

For the problem your having have you tried clicking on the "Refresh" button after you have selected the controller that shows "Not Connected"? Try that and see it that helps.

I also have a Joyswitch controller, which, until recently had a Thrustmaster F-16 FLCS, a Sidewinder Gamepad, and a Thrustmaster Nascar Wheel connected to it. Today I just bought a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick, and removed the F-16 FLCS. The FF2 uses the USB port. I haven't tried switching controllers yet after removing the F-16 FLCS, however, before that, I had no problem switching between controllers using the joyswitch. I just had to make sure I went into "game controllers" in control panel and selected the appropriate controller, making sure it used "Controller 1" as the ID. After doing this, I simply switched the knob on the joyswitch, and in a second it would recognize the new controller. I didn't use any special software, and just like yourself, I had Win95 prior to Win98SE, and it works the same in both OS'. If something comes to mind as far as configuring it, I'll send you an e-mail.

Well everyone was right. Joystick and wheels work fine with Wdos 98 ONLY if the controller is moved to Controller ID 1 in Control Panel.

Now having solved that problem, I'm finding that I can't get my Thrustmaster wheel & pedals to properly calibrate with the new Mobil Rally. This is an EA game - but distribution only (written in Grt Britain evidently) - tech support has been next to non-existent.
