Looking to upgrade my system and was wondering what will be the best upgrade (I play mainly flight sims).

My system specs:

PII 300
64 Mb ram
Voodoo2 8mb

I can only afford one or the other - should I go to 128 Mb ram or go for a Voodoo3 card?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I'll vote for Ram, Because More Ram = less hardrive access and less hardrive access = smoother Frame rate Transitions(High to low) which = More 's. All IMHO of course.

More RAM is probably the best way to go. A new video card would probably require a faster CPU to get best use from it, and that's probably outside your budget. You could consider a second V2 if you could get one *real* cheap from someone - that would give you access to higher resolutions and so forth, but that's about all I could recommend.

I went from 64Mb to 192Mb of RAM, and the difference it makes to your machine is startling. About the only thing that swaps from time to time on my box now is F4, but that's to be expected.

yeah i tend to agree since you can pick up an additional 64mb ram far cheaper than a new video card...
if i was you and i reaaly wanted a performance boost i would get 64mb ram and save the money you would have otherwise spent on a card for a new comp down the track....
