I was wondering if anyone else would support a petition for a second part of Microsoft Space Simulation, at least, a Win 9x compatible versión with up to date graphics...

I personally would love to see MS come out with a new version, with graphics better than their FS series which (IMO) are a tad lame.

I can't seem to find the original version anywhere, it's MIA.

I hear ya mate!
Damn - there are times when I am busting to fly the shuttle, and the best thing I can do is to fly one with a full attachment of missiles, photon launcher, etc.
What I would give to manually dock a shuttle with Mir.....

Are you all still running Space Simulator on your machines? If so, how does it run and what speeds are you running it at. Wanted to know if it ran ok on newer machines, I need to find me another copy. I had the 3.5" disk version when it first came out and it died on me. Need to find me a CD version.

Count me in! I'd love to see an updated Space Simulation.

I've been really getting into the Apollo, and STS missions. I'd love an actual real-time sim of a Lunar mission like Apollo 12 or something.

I can't find the original ANYWHERE. Any tips? At anyrate, note my e-mail address and let me know how I can help with the petition.

I absolutely want an updated Shuttle simulator in 3D!!!I tried the first Shuttle simulator many years ago(you know, it was the time of 80386...)and it was wonderful why someone doesn't produce a new era shuttle simulator?

Great response my friends! Nice to see there are fellow space simmers around here that would join a noble cause. For those who want to get MSSS, you can browse for it in abandonware sites, but if you are running W98 prepare to have trouble. In fact I haven't been able to run it yet! If I can find time after christmas, I'd try to write a letter, send it to this forum and forward it to Microsoft with all the names we can get. Maybe it's a bad time (NASA missions aren't very popular right now) to ask for a real space simulator, but I think the genre deserves it. Now I am going to tell you a little confidence: I wanted to run in MSSS a real time voyage to Mars, without accelerated time. It can sound silly, but I though is a good idea when you are writing a sci-fi novel that includes a Mars mission. I would like to write something like "it is our 100th day in space, I am staring at the window (then I change view in the simulator and start to describe what I see). Please, don't get me worng,I am just an enthusiastic aficionado, so, I don't know if I am ever going to finish the novel, or if it is going to be crap...

Well, let's see if we could raise some awareness in the games industry....

Daniel,
When you say a realtime voyage to Mars, do you mean you would keep the server running for however long it takes to launch from Earth, go to Mars, complete the mission and return? If so that would be a very interesting project. If we only had the sim to do it with.

I would like to see a modern day simulation of space flight with a historical perspective as well..

Ther is nothing more I would like to do is land the LEM near Frau Maro (Spelling) and view out my window in TNT or Voodoo graphics the upcoming moon land scape.

If they can get the quality of the moon landscape to look as good as graphics in USAF..the Grand Canyon region specifically..That would be awesome.

I would like to see a high resolution of the exterior and interior CM, SM and LEM hookup as it rides to the moon.

I would like to see hi resoultion of science experiments placed on the moon as well as the Lunar Rover to go exploring with dust being kicked up, etc.

I would like to see the Shuttle too with a space station to dock with.

It is time for a hard core simultion in this arena.

I hope you all agree

Cheers
