Hi all,

I'm really sorry about the technical snafu that resulted in the entire site being publicly accessible. I was working on some new server-side scripts and, well, it appears I made a mistake and things were left open.

I want to apologize to those who thought the forums were open again...I wish I could leave them open, but the timing just isn't right at the moment.

Again, my apologies.

Shoot. I was getting all pumped up.

I didn't see any announcement, so I should have known better.

I'll go tell the BlitzPigs to get back in our sty...

Whew that was close. The barbarians were just about to pour into the breach in the Scion Gates to sack Troy. Hail Doug (Hector) Helmer.

Sorry, been reading Aegean history again.

Seriously though, yes it would be great to have some old faces back, and new blood is always a good stimulous to a forum.

However, there are alot of charactors that are ...

Not that that can't be handled. Maybe I'm getting old and stale because I've grown accustomed to having strong walls to retreat behind after a heavy engagement in the Troad.

LMAO! That was funny.

I thought I was hallucinating(sp?). I then feared for Sulla in case Agent Lobki found a way through the gates!

Don't worry about the other characters; they don't want to come back- oh, you noticed.

Well it was interesting while it lasted. But some of the negative comments at the other forum really made me quite sad.

Look on the bright side Don; at least they won't be coming over here.

I wonder how loyal they would be to simhq if that site started charging?

Just thought I'd back you up a little over there Stag, and orderly withdraw behind the walls.

Tut, tut! I have a membership here but don't post too often. I do lurk from time to time...

Sulla, have you read "Gates of Fire" yet? Sounds excellent, may have to give that a go. Also check out the preview of "Rome: Total War" in the Community forum "over there..." may be a couple of pages back now...

I am going to pick up "Gates of Fire" tonight, I think. I am getting back into a "Roman Phase" also, I miss it...need to get a bit of a break from East Front studies. One older fiction you might like is Gore Vidal's about Julian the Apostate.

Here is the Rome: Total War preview page.
