While at a booksale a while back, I picked up an old paperbook edition of "Company Commander" by Charles B. MacDonald. This is a great WW2 infantry memoir that was written by a fresh new commander of an American infantry company in Germany in 1944. MacDonald is one hell of a good writer and it's fascinating to read his baptism of fire. Very gritty and realistic; no "John Wayne" heroics.

Fortunately for you peeps, it's been reprinted and is available at Amazon.com:

Highly recommended!

And keeps his left turn signal on the whole time? Hitler was much worse than that guy" -- overheard on plastic.com

Good book! It's been on my bookshelf for years.

One of the all-time classics, IMHO.
