S.o. told me in a PC forum that US modems have their cables "switched" as compared to German telephone line sockets.

I was adviced to open te cable, switch the lines, and then plug it in the socket for the modem to run in Germany.

Does this sound like something that can/should be done?

I am dying to download so many of the new EAW files but can't at present! Your help is appreciated.
