Hello all here,

I have just recieved a phone call from Mrs Pathfinder, to let me know that Pathfinder is in hospital as a result of a road traffic accident, whilst on his way to work this morning

He was involved in a collision with a lorry, thanks to a drunk driver. From what Path's wife has told me, the drunk driver coming out of a side road slammed into Pathfinder's left side, and knocked both him and his motorbike into the oncoming path of the lorry!

God must have truly been watching over Pathfinder as all he suffered was a broken leg (Left one again!!) which will require surgery. The doctor's think he got when he jumped off his mo'bike, before it hit the truck! The fact that he was doing fifty at the time made ne difference to Path, he decided that bailing out was the best option, and I have to agree with him. It gives me the willies to think what could have been if he had stayed with the bike and both had collided with the truck.

His beloved motorbike is written off, which will piss hime off no end. He spent ages restoring it back to its original condition (Kawasaki Z1300) The drunk driver is in Police custody, and apparently is in very deep s**t !!..... I wish they would hand him over to me for a while, I'd really put him in the hurt locker BIG TIME!!

My friends, please join me in offering the almighty some prayers for watching over our dear friend, and that he may have a speedy recovery in what has already been a difficult year for him and his family.

I will keep you all updated as and when I recieve news. My wife and I are going over to the hospital tonight to see how the big guy is doing. Alice (my wife) has already gone over to their house to help out path's wife with some of the housework, so she can get back up to the hospital.

I will, with the rest of the forums permission, pass on everyones good wishes and prayers.

With kind thanks to you all,
John Philips
(Rogue Trooper)

Rogue Trooper, thank you for the information. Be sure that my prayers include the poor fellow...and I am very happy that he isn't more injured. Bad for the motorcycle, money will not be able to restore all the sensible things he put into the machine. Sad.

Such bad news

Please convey my sincere best wishes to Pathfinder on a speedy recovery. We know from recent events he has a strong family to support him through his surgery and consequent rehab which is comforting. I myself have said a little prayer to help him on his way back to tip-top condition.

Drunk Drivers are such sad people -its always the innocent that get hurt! Personally I hope they "throw the book" at him/her and at least get banned from driving for a very long time.

PathFinder,

Usually motorbike + Lorry = death...Your a lucky man mate. You must have the reflexes of a Squirel or an well seasoned EAW aviator...

You will have to use a twist stick for now mate(no rudders).

Get well, heal quick and look after yourself.

I feel his pain and that's no joke. 1983, motorcycle, left leg, tibia and fibia. No fun! BTW, the other person (little old lady) had an open alcaholic container in her car. You should have heard her lie in court. Naturally she didn't win. Anyway, tell him to ask the hospital where the cable modems are. Speedy recovery and God bless!!!

I just sat down to the computer after viewing the memorial services for those killed and injured aboard the USS Cole.

The first thing I see is this horrible news about our friend Pathfinder.

Let me say that I am very glad to see that we are not having a memorial for him as well and that I hope he recovers very soon so that he can find and kick the proverbial a$$ of that drunk driver.

Good luck friend and salute!!

Sincerest regards,

Mike "Pharaoh" Sherman

Hope you recover swiftly, Pathfinder.

I used up several of my nine lives on my old motorbike, finally gave it up. No matter how careful you are there's always some dumbass$$ you have no control over. All of you who ride, be careful and remember you are invisible to other drivers!

Best wishes

I feel his pain. Not too long ago over the summer i was woeking when i dropped a telephone pole between my hand and a front end loader. I ended up chopping my middle finger off and cruching my index. I had to go into emergency surgery and i had 5 pins in my fingers. now that its all said and done i still have my fingers but they dont move that much. OH well

F*cking drunk drivers!!!

He's alive and not too terribly hurt though, that's great. It could have been much much worse.

I smell bad times for the drunkard... He deserves it too.
