Posted this question over at 12OCH but getting answers there is sometimes hit-or-miss. With the recent thread on building plastic models, I thought someone here might have an answer for me: http://discserver.snap.com/discussion.cgi?id=3051&article=30189

All bombers, ground attack aircraft, transports and reccie aircraft were standardised in RLM 70/71/65. In July 1944, there was an offical RLM order that the above aircraft were to be painted in the newer combination of RLM 81/82 replacing the 70/71 scheme respectively, although the above aircraft were still finished in the 70/71/65 scheme up until the end of the war, also the 82/83 scheme was also used extensively on ME 262's.
