Falcon has come so far since then and it a shame that 1st a lot of reviews are based on the 1st CD version and the only demo is a bit wonky.

I still talk to people and they say oh yeah Falcon that's C**p it always crashes , it slow and it dont work proper. Of course they basing this on the unpatched version.

I wonder out of how many people brought Falcon what percentage even got upto 1.08 status as it a shame that many buyers most probaly put it back on their shelf to gather dust.

Im glad combatsim still seems to update about Falcon but i think it would be desirable if more general gaming sites (Gamespot,Gamesdomain etc) revisted Falcon and revised's it's review.

It might be old but it still the king of Jet based sim's.

I meet you very often in F/A-18 forum, by simple dedution, I think you are a believer in Jane's F/A-18 and naturally its terrain and graphics.

But Falcon 4.0 is never ever weaker. In fact, its graphics, terrain in particular is the most brilliant by far amongst all other fix-wing flight sim. It's used to be called "King of the Sim" and has a good track record from its ancestors Falcon 3.0.

Do you think you can get this terrain in other sims like Jane's F/A-18?

Are those frames in Campaign or TE? I assume TE, cuz over 50 FPS in campaign seems crazy fast.

I'm sorry to ask these questions, but I am getting a new 900Mhz TBird soon and want F4 to look like that! I've been playing with graphics on 2 and 3 on my p2 266/64MB/v3 I can't wait for a new rig, but the video card, I'm excatly sure.

Yes, it is a TE mission. I got it patched with TacEdit and Sky-new. eRazor's patch doesn't react very well with F4Patch141, BTW.

It's very nice that you can afford the luxury of getting a 900MHz. I mean that's a wow to me.

If I were you, I will wait until the next nVidia's board GeForce2 GTS/400. But it resolves the bottleneck that exists in the GeFOrce2 GTS on-board memory.

No i have no financial connection from RW or Empire etc. I suppose it really annoyed me what happen to Falcon (i.e Hasbro) and other flight sims recently. So it's good to see it's not all bleak and RW have delivered a quality product.

I just dont want to see another Quality sim go the way of the dodo because no one knew about it.
I have been in sims since Gunship 1 and have never worked in the games industry and will buy sims if they are quality no matter be they jet,prop, helo, land or sea.

So i know what devouted people the Falcon4 , EAW etc crowd's are so there nothing saying we cant have other sim's as well.
By the way i came from the F4 world into EECH and still have time for both.

The demo won't run in glide on your V3. The demo is an ancient build, released a couple of years before the final.

Yes it will run fine in the final version. In fact, a voodoo3 is one of the better cards for running falcon4, much better than say the nVidia cards.
