We Got Ta-183s, P-80s, and maybe Meteors if it works somehow.. hopefully.

Where is the BELL P-59 Airacomet the first US Jet. YOU KNOW! the one that the Germans were trying to sabotage until wonder woman stopped them and and... OOOPS did i say to much..LOL

Anyway is this planned?

Development of the P-59, America's first jet-propelled airplane, was ordered personally by General H.H. Arnold on September 4, 1941. The project was conducted under the utmost secrecy, with Bell building the airplane and General Electric the engine. The first P-59 was completed in mid-1942 and on October 1, 1942, it made its initial flight at Muroc Dry Lake (now Edwards Air Force Base), California. One year later, the airplane was ordered into production, to be powered by I-14 and I-16 engines, improved versions of the original I-A.

Bell produced 66 P-59s. Although the airplane's performance was not spectacular and it never got into combat, the P-59 provided training for AAF personnel and invaluable data for subsequent development of higher performance jet airplanes.

The P-59B on display was obtained from Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico in February 1956.

He he ! Why not.
But don't expect a killer plane... At best the performance of a P-38.
No offense, but only in a fiction would have Germans send spies to sabotage this bird...

More useless info...Lynda Carter I think still lives in Potomac, MD and I think is still married to Robert Altman, the D.C. lawyer (Oh, Lawyer, where are you? hehe) who was Clark Clifford's (now deceased I think) law partner. Altman was the guy accused of being involved in the BCCI banking scandal, but was finally cleared of charges...how did that song, "Brickhouse" go.."she's the one, she's the one, built like an Amazon!"...hehehe

Cfran, what is it with you and this obsession for silly planes?

Now the Stuka I can see...

The Snake Plane is just silly...

The Airacomet is even sillier...

Now what I wanna know (stands in for Maj. Von Happening):

WHERE'S THAT B-29 AT?!?!

Yeah but Ajax the SBD was a mother beautiful plane that was actually useful. I love blowing things up with it, if there's a ground attack that needs done for the Marines the Speedy D is the plane to use.

But the Airacomet sheesh...I think Cfran has a Bell fixation.

The Vampire is on the to-do list, and I guess the P-59 could go there too, but I have to do a fair bit of juggling these days to fit aircraft in some of the slots, so it may be a while.

*AND* the Vamp looks pretty easy to do from a P-38!

But not me, not now--maybe later
