Living here in Portland, I've just found out one of Pioneers of Computer Flight simming has passed. Bob Carter was the Founder and Owner of Thrustmaster who went on to form Military Sims Inc. of Back to Baghdad fame. I first met Bob when I barged into his office and wouldn't leave until he gave me a joystick to beta. He also allowed me to participate to a minor degree on BTB. Bob was a real character, a true icon. That's how I'll always remember him. And yes, he always wore the cowboy hat, always. Salute.
