The stick shake setup for the ground roll on all CFS2 airplanes is, well, quite excessive...
It annoyed me a lot. I know I can hold the stick from the sides to disable forces, and thus the shaking, but that's not really the point. I actually taped over the sensor at the front of the handle so that the forces are always on.
Anyway, here's the fix for FF sticks: just add these lines in all "aircraft.cfg" files:

[forcefeedback]
ground_bumps_magnitude1=3800
ground_bumps_angle1=8900
ground_bumps_intercept1=5.0
ground_bumps_slope1=0.48
ground_bumps_magnitude2=1550
ground_bumps_angle2=9100
ground_bumps_intercept2=0.075
ground_bumps_slope2=1.0
crash_magnitude1=1000
crash_direction1=01000
crash_magnitude2=1000
crash_direction2=9000
crash_period2=75000
crash_duration2=2500000

The amount of shaking is controlled by the "magnitude" variable, from 0 to 10000. Adjust to suit your taste...
I also toned down the crash shaking quite a bit...

Essel, thank you very much! I actually had to disable ground bumps shake on my ancient CH Force FX, it was so annoying.
If you don't mind I'll publish this tip on my page, giving credit to you.

Of course, nibbio. It would be an honor. And congrats for your fx tweaks... they're fantastic. This has inspired me to do some researching on my own. As you said, the fx system is very configurable. Lots of fun to be had...

On my part, I researched a few things, mainly about the FF vars.

From the FS2000 SDK, I found the stick shake, Ground shake, gear retract and crash that are configurable in the aircraft.cfg.

After quite a bit of investigation, I think I found other undocumented vars,
namely for machinegun, bullet damage, rocket and bomb release and flak. I havent tested them yet, but I'll post a message if it works.

OTOH, sadly, I came to the conclusion that flight dynamics forces (stiffness w/speed, aileron bounce, etc) are hardwired and that the program makes calls to DirectInput without any variable lookup. (I hope I'm wrong...) I suspect there is a link to individual airplane files (maybe the .air files) For example, the F4U is much stiffer than the F4F in flight.
The search continues...

Yes...thanks Essel.
and if you get that fix for the ailerons in CFS2 I'm sure ALOT of people will be happy. I need the feel of the ailerons to tell me when I'm pulling too hard during dogfights, once you get hooked, its hard to do without.
Again, thanks for the smooth ride......
