Boxcar, did you come in real nice and then scream right across the deck in your Corsair this morning just like me?LOL! I didn't find it at first either but the above post is correct. I had my first successfull carrier landing this afternoon- in the easier-to-handle Wildcat! I can land my F4U on the land but, so far, I haven't mastered it on the carrier. Can you belive it man, we're flying Corsairs! Good hunting.

Boxcar,I didn't see you chime in to the post about framerates. Just curious: what are you running these days and what kind of speed are you getting with this baby? I recently put my Voodoo3 3000 back into my P3 500, 256 MB, setup. I'm getting 30-35 fps in the HUD view, at 1024x768, 16 bit, with most options a notch or so from max. Are those settings which go from 128, 256, etc. referring to system RAM? Hhhmmm... I wonder if I should put the TNT 2 Ultra back in for this sim. Good (warm weather) hunting! Feels more realistic, flying my Corsair while wearing shorts and sneakers- just like Ike Kepford! Yeehaaa!

To Casey, My System: Asus P3V4X Apollo Pro 133A Intel PIII 600EB PC133 256 Micron PC133 ram TNT 2 Ultra 32meg 4X enabled NEC 19 inch At 1024x768 32bit I`m averaging 45 FPS.....really! I spike out at 70-80 upon sky view. This is all in virtual cockpit against 2 Oscars, day time, no clouds, max detail settings......All on my underrated TNT 2 Ultra! I don`t care what anybody says: but The TNT Ultra backed up by a Hot or (overclocked) CPU is hard to beat for the money! By the way Nividia`s latest G-force drivers work wonders for the Ultra! Boxcar

Boxcar:Thanks for the info. I just reinstalled my old TNT2 Ultra and I'm very surprised to see little improvement! It looks nice in 32 bit (as predicted, deeper colors) and it does run a bit faster at some resolutions than the Voodoo3 did. But I'm getting strange fuzzy textures in the terrain and glitches here and there. I'm running my old favorite drivers, the Det. 3.68s. Maybe I'll try those new Detonator 3 drivers before I wind up putting the Voodoo3 back in. BTW, I agree that the previous generation of video cards still have some fight left in them. I was amazed when I went from a Celeron 366 to a Pentium 500, with the same old TNT2 and Voodoo3. I put a fan on my Voodoo3 3000 and I keep it and the TNT2 around. I've tried new video cards but I can't part with the Voodoo3; it's almost never let me down. It even runs Quake very well, of course in 16 bit color. Good hunting!
