I think the sign of an obsessed simmer is that as he drifts into sleep, he's fantasising about the knocking up the perfect sim, rather than knocking off some appreciative silver-screen damsel.(with apologies to the "she's" in this community, I can only draw from personal experience).

Last night as I was drifting off, it dawned on my soporific drenched brain, that we should be coordinating a repository of information right now. The task of approaching high-fidelity becomes easier when there is quality information available.

From an OpenSim/eBattlefield implementation, we need to be thinking about modularity. From building an object point of view, such as an aircraft, the components that describe the object should also be modular. Much like constructing classes in C++ I guess.

Take radar for example. Easily one of the most complex bit of avionics out there. OpenSim/eBattlefield (henceforth referred to as OPSeB in the remainder of this post for the purpose of brevity), should be able design different implementations of radar to be "off the shelf components" for the prospective sim builder, so if I happen to be building a "Six Day War" sim, I could plug in the appropriate radar's for the aircraft in my creation.

Anyone wondering how they can contribute? We need information about different types of Cyrano, Blue-Fox, Hughes, Zhuk etc. Be resourceful, scour libraries, online info, befriend an employee of Dassault ;). Hehe, love this cloak and dagger stuff!

Cheers
