I am using an Wingman Force stick and am experiencing some major problems. I have a sim that the joystick looses backpressure in. It will be flying ok and then suddenly the stick will just go floppy. It almost feels like the shaft has broken. It will catch back and then cycle back and forth from ok to floppy again. Is there a stick setting that could be causing this? I have written to Logictech about this, but so far no word from them.

George, sooner or later you're going to have to move up to something better. My experience suggests that sooner is better than later. I went through four of the el cheapos early on before I finally bit the bullet and got TM and I wasted all that time screwing around when that time would have better been spent learning a full HOTAS setup. My 2 cents, anyway.

WEll, I thought a force feedback stick that sold for $125 would be a pretty good stick.

BTW --- I did quite a lot of research on the net before I bought it. There was one site (lost it) that evaluated and graded about 30 sticks. This one was in the top 3 or 4.

Actually it is a great stick. I would buy it again if this one broke. The only drawback is that it only has 9 buttons and a hat. I really think this is plenty. I have some problems remembering what is what between sims.

It turns out that I did not have my border spring strength set high enough. This unfortunately occured at the same time that F2 started giving me problems with it. I reset the spring strength and reloaded F2 and everything is now A --OK.

Thrustmaster stuff is great but.....you'll end-up tinkering and fixing that stuff more than any other HOTAS system. Most thrustmaster users could earn an electrical engineering degree after a few years!

But the quality is superb and it is THE most realistic F-16 HOTAS around.

I have a TM full set-up & consider it the best hardware purchase I ever made. I will admit it can be a lot of work but I wouldn't dream of swapping it for any other set-up, and I think I'm safe in saying that anyone with a similar set-up (FLCS, TQS, Rudder) will say the same.

Glad to hear you got your stick sorted though grmcle, I always follow up your problem threads as they seem to be relevent to me a lot of times!
