As soon as you find out, let me know! Seriously, the EAW Airbase maps are made to be printed out (in fact, each one should---note the operative word there---print nicely on standard 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper). At the time I compiled them, we didn't know how to change the map in EAW. Of course, now -E has done it and has modified the map. I ran the idea past him a few weeks ago of converting the printable Airbase Location Maps into in-game maps, but he felt that it would be too jumbled. I'm still not so sure of that myself and I'm trying to figure out how to do it.
Jamie Richards explained how in a thread a few days ago. Which reminds me I need to post a question to Jamie about the resolution settings. Jamie's explanation was simple enough for even me to understand. However, I've tried to convert the maps, but after I drop the "Europe1.pic" into the EAW directory, the sim crashes when I try to view the in-game map, and I get a "Pic wrong resolution" message on my monitor. I'll keep trying though, hopefully soon I'll be able to see what it looks like. One word of warning though: I think you can forget about having English airbases. England is so congested with airbases there's not enough room to write all of them in! I'll probably have to limit it to just continental Europe, at least at first.
