This has happened a couple of times.

I'm flying as GB in Battle of Britain campaign. Scrambled to intercept bombers over Harwich. Get there to find unescorted JU 87's, go on a complete turkey shoot with my Spit. Downed about 7 or 8 then on my way home the computer dumps me into Windows with no error message.

I'm running a P2 350 128MBsdram TNT2 Ultra with latest Detonator drivers.

Is this just a quirk or is my PC the reincarnation of H Goerring. (think I spelled that right)?

I had this kind of troubles often myself - had a succesfull mission, only to be sent to the desktop. Almost all the crashes were in this following situation:

1.) Received message that mission is successful, and to head home

2.) External View

3.) Issuing radio commands to wingman/squadron

When all this 3 things happened at the same time, I crashed. My solution was to stop issuing ANY commands after I heard the message that the mission was a success.

Hope this helps
Stan

My experience is the same as Stanley99. It took awhile for the lightbulb to click on, but eventually I connected the issuing of commands with the dump to Windows. Sometimes I still forget. Old age, I guess.

yep its the issue commands thing after the mission is over.

Watch for it if you are hosting a ground start mission with your buddies too.
Its really annoying as hell.
Ive heard some of the worst swearing imagineable on my RW channel when this happens to thew host. (He's pissed)
