Royal Navy Martlet Mk. III, flown by Sub-Lieutenant Walsh of No. 805 Squadron, Western Desert, autumn 1941.

First provided under Lend-Lease to the Royal Naval Air Station at Donisbristle in Scotland. Later the Martlet was renamed Wildcat to avoid confusion.

Wildcat Mk. III's were not equipped with folding wings and were therefore used for land-based operations.
