An interesting idea. Maybe it will catch on. I imagine LA has a big enough population to support such a thing. What you might want to also consider is just setting up servers for people to use over the internet. Offering systems to host games rather than just a matchmaking service. Charge a monthly fee and you'd be all set. Novalogic runs such a service for free and is probably the biggest reason that their games are so popular.

I don't think so.

sorry about that last post. I should be more constructive...

I think $30 dollars an hour is a too high. A good top of the line personal system today costs at most $1700. Good HOTAS setup costs $200. We buy two flight sims a year, so we spend at most maybe $2000. But this is just on a year where we totally ditch our old system. In other years maybe we'll spend at most $300 to get new upgrades...

If I pay $30 an hour for 12 hours (which is my current playing time), that would mean $360 a week, ==> $1440 a month.

Maybe really rich folks would want to spend that kind of money... so who knows.

Keep in mind, he isn't talking about a hosting system. The $30 an hour would be for a simulator that you sit in with an fancy seat, hotas, and a big screen. Kind of like an arcade game but more realistic. You'd actually have to go to the site to use it. In LA, there may be enough people interested to make it worthwhile.

I guess I did take the idea too far. If it was something someone would do once a few months I guess it might be well worth it.

Not something I would do... but to each his/her own.

F4 is pretty fun now.
