All you need to have running are explorer & systray.

Oh, and I'd advise delving into your start menu and removing 'find fast' from your startup group. That thing is a pain in the arse for *any* windoze use, never mind running F4.

Also disable Office Startup. (or osa.exe). There is no reason to have a program running to help performance of Office, when you aren't even using office.

There is a nify little program called ENDITALL that will close all your background programs automatically, with options to protect those you don't want closed.

No F4 pilot should live without this one. Puts an end to the endless CTL>ALT>DEL.

Find it at zdnet.com

There's another way to get at your problem. Go into settings, control panel, display and disable screen saver/background and THEN go to start and run msconfig. Under SELECTIVE STARTUP check Load Startup Group Items. This will resstart your computer w/ mim of "trash". Then go back to control panel and use Game Controllers to enable your joy stick. I've used it for a long while and it works. When you're finished plying games go back to msconfig and check NORMAL STARTUP -- then enable your screen saver/background. Good hunting . . .

Systray is not needed for proper Windows functioning unless you are running on a laptop. I have been running without systray for close to a year now and nothing is affected. I have Explorer running and thats it.

Kobra, out.

Alex, you must have a Diamond video card in your system. DMHKEY is the InControl tools driver program.
