Get this frustrating message frequently when trying to fly multiplayer campaign missions over the internet. Happens of course when there are 2 or 3 humans flying a 4-ship mission. AI Ops Officer refuses to assign AI pilots for some reason. We have tried changing ships, leaving the package and returning, advancing the clock to take-off time, checking the squadron stats to ensure pilots should be available. You would think that out of 48 pilots one should be mission ready.Anyone found a solution to this problem?? Much appreciated. Habu out

Yes, the solution is to jump to another base, though you probably don't want to do that. How many air craft have you lost in your squadron? If you kill off too many, they don't come back until you get resupplied. Remember that they had that problem in Nam? So they started dragging drivers out of C130s and other transports and plopping them into Thuds & F4's!!! Only to get shot down in droves. The best way to avoid this problem is to discard missions when you get killed. Or don't get killed.

Someone posted under a similar thread a few weeks past. It made sense to me. It isn't a shortage of pilots - it's a shortage of planes. The message is wrong.Anyway, I watched out for it. I knew how many planes I had, and counted how many were in the air. The same! So there were none left over to fly. The problem seems to be that when the campaign is running in the background, the engine takes too long getting them on the ground. Sometimes half an hour from the time they reach the sp before "land" to removing them from the frag list. Maybe this is how it is. If so, maybe you can avoid the problem by re-timing the caps to seperate them out more? Maybe worth a try if you are expecting to fly a multi-player mission. It seems to be hard sorting it out once you've got the message, though. Alex.
