Author Topic: Real world F-16 question Stan Man unregistered posted 10-12-1999 03:06 PM        Have any of the newer F-16 versions incorporated a TF radar? This is one feature which seems to be sorely lacking on the Block 50. At least I'm ASSUMING the Block 50 doesn't have it, because it's not in the sim. I know it came in real handy in Jane's F-15 for those NOE ingresses, especially at night. Would be nice to see the Viper get one of those, especially in the hilly terrain of Korea. IP: Logged JimG Member Member # 153 posted 10-12-1999 04:12 PM                Stan, the Block 40/42s are the models with the LANTIRN and TF systems. This plane has the LGB capability. The Block 50/52s are usually the HARM shooters, although both models have the ability to do plenty of other stuff (Mavs,AMRAAM, CBUs, Mks). You usually can tell the models in pictures...the 40/42s have two pods on the intake while the HARM shooters have one pod, like in F4. I think the different sqadrons in Korea are a mix of both models. If not, then they are all Block 40/42s and the HARMs are in Misawa, Japan(WW).
