Sorry if this is a repeat, fellas, but I haven't seen the answer anywhere.

I would love to see the ability to overlay those clear MFD's (from the forward, no cockpit view) over the the forward, with cockpit, view. (EF2k for win 95 did something similar to this).

This would certainly save a lot of trouble, and seems to me truer to a realistic spirit of SA than going totally blind to look at the current instrument view, (and smacking into hills *ggg*).

I've scoured the docs and don't see the option to do this. I'd love for somebody to tell me it's there, (or suggest that Razorworks put it there.)

As it is now, I fly no cockpit because of this, but I'd really like to use the cockpit, (and get the rain buildup, fog, etc).

It's my only nitpick with this fantastic sim.

Thanks,

D. "Dada" Miller

Welcome to EECH/AH world Dada

This sim rocks online campaign. The colors just take a bit of time getting used to, darn brits.

Ill be fishing and jetskiing in Lake Erie in T-minus 3 days....

and of coarse visit my old haunts.

I don't think that's possible, Dada, though I agree with your complaint. That always sucked right from the days of EEAH. Like you, I turn off cockpit graphics unless I'm on some milk run transfer mission WAY the hell back in the friendly rear.

Regards,
Sir C

Thanks Tom, Yep, EECH is one of the best ones to come along in a long time. Not really much to gripe about. What a novel concept, huh?

Hopefully the weather will give you a break. Unbelievable amout of rain here the past few months. Hope you have fun.

Hmmm, Thanks SC.

I wonder if anyone's ever suggested it to them. From my layman's POV, it doesn't seem that insanely hard to do. Maybe I'll give it a shot and send them an email.

Giving the option of seeing a fixed view of the cockpit when you press the hat down instead of the panning would be an improvement. Sort of like doing a quick glance at the cockpit. In real aircraft, it is very easy to fix your eyes on the instruments and forget to look outside or vise versa. But then again, one could argue that trying to simulate virtual reality through a monitor needs all the help it can get. I guess I agree with you since I never use the cockpit view for the reasons you stated.

yep, sort of like taking it all in with your peripheral vision. Take driving. How often would you go totally heads down, studying the gauges or a map? (If so, I don't want to see your insurance bill ) At best you take a millisecond glance every now and then and keep your head up.

(I'm not talking about FLIR of DTV or something that needs full dedication in a hover. I'm talking about just staying on top of your AA and AG radar as you're cruising around.)
