I screwed up big time guys, and I want to apologize to the admin staff for my earlier post. I just wasn't thinking when I posted that info about the CD Crack. Since I don't know who actually has purchased the game, I will be removing it from our squads site. When I posted the first time, I really didn't give it a single thought about who has actually purchased the game. I just assumed after reading a number of posts here at the Combatsim forum about guys seeking the crack, that most of the guys posting in there already had the game, and why would they be asking for it if they didn't have it. That and now with EAW also being discontinued, a lot of guys who have legitimatley purchased the game are so concerned about something happening to their one and only CD, and then not being able to replace the game. I really was just trying to be helpful, but I guess I was a little naive.I realize now that I made a major blunder. I erased my earlier post, and I am removing the file from my website. I hope those of you that already downloaded the file will be honorable with it, and not make the same mistake that I just did. GW

S! all,I also have a legal copy of EAW (what other way of doing my bit to help the sim genre survival?), but I'd like to save myself the hassle of swapping CDs into the tray. Could anyone (Bigshot?) send me the file, please? E-mail: flipper@davidml.globalnet.co.uk Thanks!

This no cd "thing" works a treat, online and off line.No probs what so ever Access times are faster due to the fact that it does not have to utililize the slower cd drive. You will need a FULL install of the sim for it to work. --------------------------------------------- I reckon MPS management`s strategy was : We will let people use no cd with Falcon4 because it will only appeal to a small minority(Less to lose).... We will not allow it in EAW because it will appeal to a majority(more to lose)..... What the hell planet are you management boys on? You have an option to make the game faster(access times),and to do away with the hasle of inserting the disk each time to play ,not to mention the damage that eventually happens to it(scracthes etc). So if any of you suckers are reading this thread: 1)make it official 2)Release the game code to some of the talent on this forum so that they can improvethe sim. MPS do the wright thing. Please

Bilko,Couple questions, 1.) Did you have a full install before applying the crack, its needed and will not work correctly without it. If you don't remember I would suggest un-installing and then re-installing EAW. 2.) Did you follow the directions in the readme exactly? Before applying the crack, you need to run the plain jane EAW 1.2 (no addons) first to set everything up correctly. Afterwards you apply the patch. Did you do this? 3.) What version of EAW are you running, the US or a European version. I only tested the crack out with the US version so I am unaware of how it will work with any others. GW

Bilco,Sorry 1 more question, Did you make the change to your eaw.ini file? You needed to do the following: Add/replace the following in your EAW.INI file... [Miscellaneous] Debug Flags=0 Debug Path=.\

Bilko,Go to your Windows Explorer Find your Main EAW Directory The default should be under C:/Program Files/Microprose Software/European Air War Locate the file eaw.ini (it should look like a little note pad with a small gold seal on it, it does anyway in my version of Windows98) Double Click on it and it should open up in as a notebook file. Scroll Down till you find the header [Miscellaneous] Then make sure it reads exactly as whats listed below.
[Miscellaneous] Debug Flags=0 Debug Path=.\ Then save the file and your done. GW

Bigshot,If you already have a complete install, you do not have to uninstall and reinstall. Plus you do not have to mess with removing any add-ons.I just unzipped the crack into a temp file, read the notepad instructions, copy the eaw.exe file in to the eaw folder, and then you open your eaw.ini file, scroll down to [miscellaneous], then add/replace the following into your ini file: Debug Flags=0 Debug Path=.\ Hope this helps.
