Check out the following URL for some great screenshots of IL-2 Sturmovic over at dogfighter.com:

The graphics look absolutely gorgeous as well as the damage model -- one can see wing ribs and spars exposed by cannonfire.

The terrain rendering looks first class (especially when one considers that this simulator isn't due out till late this summer). The only part that looks like it needs a bit of work are the puffy cumulus clouds which must be a graphical nightmare since nobody had ever figured out how to do this right. I think WWII Fighters and Fly! must be the winners here. Like Flanker 2.0, IL-2 puffy clouds look just a bit "too perfect" in their spacing for my tastes. Also, go look at a "puffy" cloud the next time you get a chance and you'll see there's always a shade of gray near the bottom of the cloud. Clouds that are "too white" all over tend to look a bit artificial.

BUT... I'm being a bit nitpicky here. With the amount of detail that's being considered in the FM and terrain rendering as well as gaming aspects, this sim is sure to be a classic.

It's great that Oleg shows up on these boards. He deserves our support.
