Biggles,
I hate to say this, but in my opinion ATI products are not very good for Sims.
They are not Microsoft Certified and I had some terrible experiences with them in the past even with their latest drivers.
I wouldn't touch then with a 10 foot pole now.

I agree.

My experience with two ATI Rage products has been negative.

With so many great cards out there, PCI and AGP, 32 MB and 16 MB, why not go for a Voodoo3 or TNT2?

God luck.

Ahhh the ATI card, goto http://www.rageunderground.com/
and download the Rage Tweaker, install it, goto the Direct3D tab, and make sure Primary has no check mark beside it, if that fails try some of the drivers on their site, they are much more stable than ATI drivers...

I think the Microprose support site actually has something on it...looking up now..

AH HA! found it http://support.microprose.com/cgi-bin/webcgi.exe?Session=245850,U=0,ST=88,N=1,P=3,CASE=273
I hope that helps!

Be sure you have the RAGE 128 Tweaker. I had the same problem with the menu screens until I got the RAGE 128 Tweaker. You can get it from http://www.rageunderground.com/r128tweaker.shtml
Good Luck!

I have a suggestion and your not going to like it. Get a new card I have never used a ATI card that i liked and the drivers always gave me problems.

If you just bought it maybe you can trade it in.

Biggles,

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is my understanding that your card is an excellent performer when displaying images in 32 bit mode at lower resolutions. However, when you crank the card down to 16 bit mode, which I believe EAW can only handle, the card craps out. There is nothing that you can do to alleviate this problem unless there is some magical patch that allows you to run it in 32 bit mode. I hope if I am way off base here, someone will politely let me know.
I can only assume that you have downloaed the most recent patch and have modified your eaw.ini file to try and play the game in higher resolutions.
Good luck.

John

Still no luck. What settings did you use?
