I took the following screenshots during a multiplayer co-op mission in the 1973 Yom Kippur war with my friend. His phantom went down pretty early in the game leaving me to defend my base in the Sinai from a swarm of migs that seemed to never end. In the end I succesfully completed the mission and only one mig made it home safely. By the way I am Polar.

A mig-17 the plane I concentrated on destroying since they carried all the bombs.

The last planes for me to fight, MiG-21s. When I took this there were about 4 on me. The smoking one later fell victim to my 20mm and I damaged another.

I spent my last 20 rounds damaging a Mig-21 leaving one damaged and one perfect one on me. I used a 21 tactic I learned in USNF'97. I know the F-4 can carry more fuel than the 21 and because of my earlier drop tank I had lots left. I would just stay out of his sights till he ran out.

He eventually ran out and tried to "land in the sand".

Notice the missles still on one wing.

When my wingman went down he happened to hit the runway. I am about to check it for damage so I can land later.

The Mig-21 which I earlier damaged bugged out while I was dogfighing his leader (or wingman) and ran out of fuel just as this was taken, near his base in Egypt. Close but no cigar...

He still tried to gain altitude which made him stall.

He started a dive just as he overflew a Mig-17, the only survivor of the attack, which landed earlier.

His dive ended on the tarmac.

There, back in his parking spot...

I got the kill because I seriously damaged him earlier.

Dali,
That is IAF not USAF. IAF is also sort of far from a hardcore sim but is closer than USAF.

Sorry to bring up an "old" thread, but last night I fired up IAF and it looked terriable!, it almost looked like software rendering. The terrain looked like I remember it, but my F-15 looked really bad. My screens looked nowhere near as good as these. Any help? All my graphics settings were maxed. AMD K6-2 400, 96 meg Ram, Voodoo 3 2000 o/c to 166 mhz.

I have no idea. I am running it on a Celeron 500, 128 mb ram, and a non-o/c V3 3000. It looks fine to me. Why don't you post a screen? Run the IAF config program in the IAF start menu group and make sure you have hardware acceleration turned on.
