I dunno... but that looks kinda dangerous to me!

Hmm... any wrong positioning of the missile and it's going to come out of the air intakes!

Nonetheless, it's an IMPRESSIVE photograph!

Is that a normal winder or the new AIM-9X version? Cool pic BTW.

I think it's just the AIM-9M... but of course I could be wrong...

I've seen some onboard camra Sidewinder launches and you can see the ejctors push the missile out befor launch. It's pretty cool. In normal AA mode the missile stays in the bay until launch, the computer and radar give gimble angles and range to the missile as it comes out just befor launch. I heard this only works with the X version. In dogfight mode the sellected winder pops out ready to launch at any second. This was modled into an old some what poor quality sim I once had called iF-22. Ahhh... the F-22 Raptor, what a bird.
