I was looking for a patch for DID Total Air War and noticed that their web site is gone. The publisher's site (Infogrames) is still available but provides no support for the game. Thanks to the folks at Combatsim I finally found the patch but am wondering what happened to DID. Did they go out of business? That would be most unfortunate. Those guys have flight sim programming talent that can blow out the window just about everybody except Janes...

After a short period of turmoil, they were bought by Rage (as was B17 2 makers Wayward). Don't know if they are still known as DID or go under the heading of Rage; but they are working on EF-2000 v.3 (also known as Typhoon) which is scheduled for a September release. Sounds right out of the blue doesn't it? But yeah it's true.

There is another topic on this forum dealing with DID/Typhoon. You find some more info there.

Yup, most of Digital Image Design is now known as "Rage Warrington", that is, Rage's Warrington (UK) based development division.

The story is:

Most of the programmers at DiD walked out and were employed en masse by Rage software.

The empty shell of DiD was shut down by infogrames a week later. (I suspect this was planned for a long time, and the programmers left with knowledge of this.)

The programemrs at Rage are indeed working on Typhoon, for both the PC and Playstation 2. It is very likely that the two versions are different, hopefully the PC version is a bit more 'hardcore'.
