Is anyone else having problems installing some of the older games on newer, faster machines? I have a 750 Mhz Athlon and I can't get F-22 to install.

I'll guess that it's more likely to be a software problem rather than a hardware problem. Also check your video card compatibility. Another problem I've had is that my monitor was not of sufficient resolution, although, if you are running 750 Mhz, I can't imagine you'd be using such a low res monitor.

If it was a hardware problem, it's more likely that the hardware was too old and/or slow. Are you sure it's 750 Mhz and not 75 Mhz?

I was able to get F22 and TAW to install on a new machine by simply not installing the Music option during setup. Give it a try.

Any error messages?

Anyways see if you have dos drivers loaded for the CD, if so remove them.

Hope it helps.

The only way I could get TAW to run is by removing about a quarter of my Fonts. If you
exceed 500 fonts you'll get a "Winfont Creation" error. Do any of the patches fix
this? The graphics and emmersion are outstanding in this sim, but I don't want to sacrifice my System fonts for it.

Thanks,

-Shogun

I had TAW running fine for a day than- boom- crash city.

It crashed three times in one day so I removed it and installed F-22ADF instead. Only problem with it so far is a strange blue outline around objects in hardware mode. I switched it to software-only mode and it looks pretty good (P 500, 128 MB, TNT2 Ultra).

It's funny that I'm trying to get this thing to run when I've got Jane's F-18 and others sitting on a shelf. But something about the look and feel of DiD's work keeps me coming back.

Good hunting.

a problem with newer hardware is the lack of proper irqs (interrupts) i have a monster sound mx300 and an aztech modem that both use irq 10, and it will crash F-22 ADF if you just off the internet...also after a little while the midi music starts to crackle. this can be fixed by turning off the rather annoying (at least to me) music.
