Hi,

I found a local shop that has loads of old flight sims. So far I've picked up Tornado and Fleet Defender. The FD version was the gold one and has the video and the sound clip from that odl F14/Mig confrontation. what I want to know is if it's worth playing though. they also have some copies of A6 Intruder and a value pack that has Intruder/Harrier/Falcon/??(can't remeber). I remeber Harrier on the amiga but is it worth getting today?

Medway,
I also have F14 FD Gold on my HD just for fun and a few nostalgia flights, it was a great sim around 93-94. But really playing the campaign now ? It was a 486 sim, of course you can't expect the depth of flight model, avionics, weapons, AI of the recent sims. Or take the limited sound capabilities, e.g. the chaff/flare sounds are similar to my door bell.
If you are looking for a budget sim and you have a 3Dfx card, I would choose F15 or Hornet Korea.

Jackal,

Well i'm not looking for budget, I just have had a interest lately in the older sims. See i used to have an amiga and played some on that, then i didn't have a computer (well a mac for a while but that doesnt count) until this time last year. so now i am playing "catch up" and trying all the ones out i missed. if anything they are a good read and the f14 one has the videos and stuff, so for $10 i'm not worried. i do think i'm going to get into tornado though.

Well, I dont fly it anymore, but I still have the manuals very close to me for good reference and whenever I wanna check out my all-time favorite fighter jet.
