Two days ago I bougt DI's F18 Superhornet! I think it isn't so bad and after some time you can really enjoy it but I have a problem with the framerate.
It is unplayable in 1024 with cockpit. Without cockpit it's very smooth.
Actually I have a Celeron 433 and a Voodoo 3.
Should I buy a new Graphiccard (Geforce...) or do I need a new CPU ?

Thanx

It doesn't look like either one is the problem. How much memory do you have? Also, run the config and make sure your using your Voodoo drivers.

I have 96MB Ram but their is no difference with 128MB.
I'm also using my Voodoo drivers and I have disabled all options under "Details".

Is it just me or is 3dfx dropping the ball it seems every new sim that has been released has problems with voodoo based cards. Flanker, DI, USAF, and I have heard reports of problems with janes f18 jeez come on already.

The programming teams seem to prefer D3D to Glide at the moment, probably because D3D covers a whole range of cards (including 3Dfx) while Glide is 3Dfx specific.

That and the fact that D3D seems to support the more advanced facilities of the newer cards, which 3Dfx doesn't support -> texture & lighting/Geforce256.

It's just a pity that DX7 seems to be such a pain in the posterior to get running...

Today I installed the old DirectX 6.1 driver for my Voodoo3 and Superhornet is much faster. Even in 1024 you can play the game with 15+ fps. With the DirectX 7 driver the fps were usually under 10.

Happy new year

Excuse me, what is the command to display the FPS in DI's F-18? Or were you just guessing?
