I've still got a copy of AV-8B lying around. It actually has a working dynamic campaign (with ground troops) set in East Timor. The Harriers operate off the USS Tarawa (sp?), hence landing is fun, and you can define your own battle plans in the campaign section. Opposition comes in the flavour of Indonesian A-4s and F-16s. Graphics are VGA/SVGA un-textured polygons (think Falcon 3 standard- but with a hi-res option)
The avionics are far less complex than current sims, and wingman commands non- existant, unfortunately. Also the sim requires 600K base memory to run, so can be a bit fiddly.
I'd wish you luck in finding a copy, I picked mine up from a relative in Malaysia, as I'd not seen a copy in the UK.

My friend got that game with her computer, I plaed it couple of times, it was pretty neat, especially the campaign having persistant stuff, and you could see the Marines advancing across the theater..I just played it a few months ago, I'm sure she still has it, but she's not into much more than the intenet on her computer.
