please i need your help... w/so many crashes of my system, i know its about to go to the shop that will cost couple hundred $$$$!!! in the begining of my system setup it usually says "PRIMARY BOOT DISK FAIL, PLAESE INSERT SYSTEM BOOT DISK." what does this really mean.. also sometimes the system wont start and will do nothing.... theres also a sound of the hard drive(not sure?) spining... theres been a lot of probems and i need help... my system is a: AMDK6-2 400 mhz 64 MB 8.08G hard drive..

Not sure you have the right forum here. Sounds like your hard drive is taking a krap. Try http://206.161.202.65/forum/index.php.

scotthew21, to me it sounds like your Hard Drive may be going out or is out. I had a system do this to me once before and it was because the hard drive went out. Just replace your Hard Drive and you will be all ok. Heck you can get them very cheap now, for example a 20 or 30 gig for $100. I just purchased a new Maxtor 30 gig for only $100 at CompUsa! So don't worry, it happens sometimes and it is simple, just replace it and you are all done. Then look at it from the bright side you will have MUCH more storage space on the new drive. Whatever you do DON'T waste your money on a new system because you don't need one. How old is your computer?

my system is about a 1yr. old christmas... w/ so many freezes i had no way of getting out of, i had to shut it off rong.... so how much will it cost to have it installed and i will have to reinstall all my programs in again right??

recent update: well my hard drive is working some how... but now my CD-rom wont work that means i can play f-18.....it says " dive d: not ready".. that probly means thats going or its gone... i dont have enogh money to get another computer though so... its going to be a couple months.....
