Hello,

I just transitioned from Vipers to Hornets...actually got burned out on F4. I'm glad I made the transition!

Anyway, I wanted to post a pic of my HOTAS setup and was wondering if any of you would mind posting yours...I just thought it would be neat to get an idea of what your setup looks like.

Hehehehee rgr the web space, after actually reading ALL of the directions, I got it to work.

TopGun, actually, I am married, had to spend the extra $2.00 for the black PVC to make it "Match". Remember, it is easier to ask for forgiveness...

Awesome, you guys...Also, I hate you all!!
*Stupid Jealosy*..
I have the same mouse as you, XOrionFE, and a stereo like yours Nuggett, but that's the ONLY thing my computer room has in common with your guys'. You're lucky to have that stuff! I always wondered how you used a stick and throttle..That's a neat idea, with the wooden frame like that.

Very nice guys!!

Here's what I have had set up for over 2 years now...

It was cheap to do, easy, and is very comfortable!

It consists of an old swivel office chair, 2 1x6's, some camping pad foam, an old red towel, 2 heavy duty L brackets, some big screws, and some velcro.

Note how I have the Logitec Trackman Portable(for laptops) velcroed and supported on my CH Pro Throttle for quick access to the DDI buttons and all other clickable items in the new cockpits. It is completey hands off the keyboard with the Saitek PC Dash as I set all the wingman commands, views, gear, etc up on it.

I now have a 17 inch monitor as these pics are years old.

I got the plans from the following site:
http://www.62ndff.onthenet.com.au

Go to the "Projects" section. It is the Akers-Barnes Cockpit Design. They have the plans there to download. The measurements are all in metric so you have to convert if you dont want to use metric. It takes 2 sheets of 4x8 plywood, a skill saw, saber saw, paint, and of course some elbow grease.
I built mine in one weekend. I added a base out of 3/4 inch ply and 2x4s. To see more info, see the current postings in joystick forum under Immersion topic. I will also have more info posted soon at www.frag-zone.com.

Sh*t. Now I've seen everything.

I thought I was pretty slick with the joystick, throttle and pedals.

Now I realise I have a long way to go.

Wow guys, awesome pics. I was checking out the 209th DeltaHawks webpage tonight and there's a ton of cool cockpit pics on there too:
www.deltahawks.org

I have a question for all you Masterpilot users: are you using an Epic card or something like that to actually display MFD data on your Masterpilot? Or are the displays just pictures?

Joystick before printer, joystick before wife, and joystick before work. go get em, lol i am too lazy to post mine, let me give you a verbal description instead:

Joystick goes on the knees, no throttle, use keyboard for thrust and rudder (rudder I neber use), mouse is pan, and thats it.

Orion,
Pardon my ignorance, but what are the two monitor like devices on either side of your monitor? Those look like MFD's or something?

What's the scoop on those? And also, the little color-keyed pad that you have in the center? What's that? I just use a joystick (a MS force feedback pro)

Guess I should get rudder pedals, and maybe a real HOTAS setup, huh?

Any information would be greatly appreciated...

that's me on the left. I have a CH fighterstick, pro throttle, and pro pedals. all are attached to my trusty old rocking chair (which no longer rocks). My mouse is mounted on the right side behind my stick, this way i can lean back, drink some beer, and fly FALCON 4.0.

Read the previous posts on this topic, go to www.deltahawks.org where Velcro provides all the info you could want (he should get commission) and you can also read all about mine and where I got stuff at www.frag-zone.com.

Jeezuz, this thread is funny. You guys make me laugh.

I think all of us would only be 100% satisfied if we went the whole hog and made a full cockpit mock-up with complete HOTAS?

Hey Eagle, you look pretty relaxed there. Complete HOTAS, beer, and a reclined seat! The best of everything!
