Hey Guys
How do you lock on to a SAM instead of a
AAA on your MFD?

I just started the training missions and loaded up the HARM'(I think thats the one )

And it didn't say how to it just said how to take out the SAMs.

I haven't had that much time to read the manual as I have been very sick

but I will start soon. Thanks.

With the HARM selected, click in the HARM SMS page. Just hit the backspace key until you toggle to the target you want to attack. This should allow you to target either SAM, EW, or AAA sites.

rdblan2: Does the EW symbol on a Harm or EW screen indicate the site of an electronic warfare emitter (jammer) and not a SAM site?
Thanks.

When you see a 'EW' on your early warning-screen or HARM SMS-display means that there is an Early-Warning radar on the ground in front of you. That is, if you see it in the HARM-display. The EW-screen shows (as I'm sure you know) radar threats all around your aircraft.

You are correct. The EW stands for Early warning. TS stands for TinShield and so on.

Jedi and rdblan2: Is the EW (Early Warning) radar a radar that early on detects your presence and leads to the scrambling of intercepters and is not tied to a SAM or is it tied to a SAM? Is the Tin Shield radar tied to a SAM?
Thanks.

DOC:

I believe the EW sites can be tied to a SAM. I can't be sure, but I think in the builder you can set up GCI links to just about anything. Much like the interceptors. In the builder, if they are there, and placed close enough to the radar with an alert intercept action, get ready to run or fight! I'm sure someone here will give you some additional insight.
