I am looking for advice on how to achieve victory in this campaign battle. It is a night scramble to intercept Russian bombers inbound from the southeast. Lots of bogeys against a 4-ship package and a few alerts/CAPS on call. I have not been able to prevent leakers getting through to launch on mother despite numerous tries. Mother gets sunk, campaign lost.

I'll check it out Habu....let you know tonight or tomorrow. Sometimes there is enough randomness in these missions to give you fits though.....not really TOTALLY scripted.

I don´t remember it exactly, but I think one of the tricks here was to increase your package to eight fighters, loaded to the teeth with AMRAAMs. Besides, directing your different sections to bracket and engage from several directions also seemed to help somewhat. Good luck!

Ok Habu, I did it last night. Take two extra wingman and load everyone up with 120's. Get to your cap point quickly...I go directly there at high speed and very high altitude..like 30-33K. This gets you lots of early shots at the escorts. Send part of your flight early and call the F-14 alert while initially on the way to the cap point. Get off a few early shots and then turn around and get low. I wait until the F-14's are near then pitch back in. We will get a few more kills then they start shooting Moskit's. Try to position yourself right in front of the line of incoming missiles and give the engage bogies command. I use TWS and can shoot two 120's simultaneously. We might miss one but the ship will still survive, and you might too. The 33's seem to launch thier missiles and then run.
That strategy worked twice for me...see how it works for you.

Oh, well, sure, just add a few wingmen! Hehe. Yeah, I was doing most of that: calling for assist from the CAPS and alerts, going in buster at about angels 25. Tried chainsaw maneuver. But I really didn't think adding to the package was quite cricket. Nevertheless, I think that is the only path to victory.
Had 2 very good human pilots from my squad try it with me (as a 4-ship) and we still failed. Will test out your tips, Hornit. Thanks
