I've heard people say that dx8 is out on warez sites. But does anyone know if it has been officially released by microsoft yet?

I don't think so, there are working beta's though. Only thing I've really heard is a report that it's direct play code helped in EECH multi connection.

STAY AWAY FROM BETA DX8...I made the mistake of downloading it from a site I found, and all it did was say everything was expired...and believe me, you can't just get rid of DX...I had to find another site to download a program to get rid of it, then reinstall and update...took me a whole day. So again, IF IT AIN'T BROKE,DON'T FIX IT!

Hey Hoot, your right across town from me, Im over by the Richmond Airport. And your absolutely right, the kids over on the Freespace2 board were pointing guys to the beta of DX8, then they were coming back with all kinds of problems bitchin and complaining, most of them probably dont know how to trouble-shoot like we do, but it reinforced that you should NEVER, EVER download a newer version of DX unless you have to in order to play a game.

No, the official DX8 is not released yet, so it's not on the site (as of last week).

Hoot.....

Then it wouldn't be a fair statement to say that DX8 ain't good because it hasn't been released yet. Can't wait. I desperately need a fix.

A word from one who has been saved endless times, last from DX8
http://www.adaptec.com/products/overview/goback.html

This program of honorable mention lets you run your system totally into the ground with whatever crap software, beta garbage you can think of including viruses and recover your system flawlessly the way it was. Its off subject but takes the fear completely out of beta testing. And it really works
