right!..and it's only 1.2 gigs..in fact i installed it a second time..and i'm considering a third copy on my HD if I have room..a lot of times I'll run both copies at the same time ---so think about how much realism is pulsing throught the circuits of my computer when I got them both running...why it's enough to make the american goverment nervous i'll tell you that much

First of all, I am the real Maytees.

And I would like to tell you that USAF is no longer in my HD.It is just too plain, it no longer delivers.... what else should I say...

USAF, rest in peace

Amen

USAF came out last week in Spain. I took it home. I started.
Sound is killed sometimes. And the friendly AI is forgotten on the CD, EA SPain told me. So nearly always my wingmen crash. The instructor never says anything. I cant finish trainings.
Finishing missions (without any wingmen) is nearly impossible.
The autopatcher downloads a useless 9 M file.
The start screen says version 1.02. The registry says 1.02...

But i still luv it!

Should you keep USAF on your HD.

That depends. USAF is a fairly good sim. It is good for training novice simmers and is good step towards more serious stuff. The training missions in USAF are the best ever. Even experienced simmers may enjoy it. But if your taste is more torwards Falcon 4.0 or Flanker 2.0, I don't think you will be satisfied with Jane's USAF. It simly does not score ot well on the realism factor and AI is poor.

Flight model is very relaxed making loosing control virtually impossible.

Enemy AI at the highlest level is challenging enough (promarily because it uses a different flight model from the player). But once you realize that it will out turn you no matter even if the AI aircraft is less manueverable than your and you learn to fight in the vertical and learn to make good use of yout trottle, it stops becoming challenging. Something about downing 5 MiG's in one encounter does not feel right.

When you are outnumbered all enemy aircraft will follow you. They don't split and attack from different angles like they did in jane's World War II Fighters.

To sum it up, I am selling my copy of Jane's USAF. It is not a bad sim...and for the right person it may be a great buy...but as a Falcon 4.O and Flanker 2.0 driver, Jane's USAF does not satisfy in the realism department.
