For anyone who may have flown a real WW2 fighter, is the prop and any colour on the prop tip actually visible when spinning at high speed?

I am trying to decide how realistic the visible prop with 3dfx is compared to TNT and the real thing!

Hopefully someone can comment.

Cheers.

Sure, the yellow tip if there is visible as a yellow ring. The prop is a greyish blur with some strobe effects.

Actually, those big props of WW2 are rather slow revving compared to smaller private planes for example. WW2 props turn at around 1,200 to 1,500 rpm. All engines are geared. Modern small props turn at 1,800 +.
