first of all thanks to JWC for valuable infos on the AI cheating! if you can please send me your email (to bartels@pobox.sk), I'm afraid our IT department will block these pages in the near future.

And now the question: what tactic do you Kamaraden use against die Viermots? I found it really tough to score from the sides or from the top (I read a story from R.Sinner about attacking the bombers from the top, it was favourite tactic for the 109 of III/JG27, they were able to hit the fuel or oil tanks from the side that was not enough protected)..... Flying 190 I'm able to knock down a bomber only firing into wings. It might be a bit strange but I usually atack from behind at about 550+ km/h, 900m above, revving the motor up to 110% (emergency war power) so that at a distance about 1000 meters I'm doing 640+ km/h, hold the fire until 200m, aim for the wings, fire, disengage in steep climb to the left, gain attitude and repeat the attack again. According to the books I read this was supposed to be a clear suicide....what's wrong?

Galland, in his book The First and the Last, said that the canons were fitted in the wings of the 190 pointing slighty upwards, to force German pilots to attack their preys from beneath and behind, their most vulnerable and less defended spot.

I have tried to do so, but I got crippled everytime as soon as my speed drops. I also use to aim at the wing roots or between the two engines.

S! Kamarad,

I start my attack run from headon aiming for the lead bomber holding fire until 400-500m out, then slamming my throttle to full and diving through the BOX. Zooming over into an Oblique left or Right climb to position me on the bombers 7-5 oclock position. I come back in raking away from 9-3 or 3-9 the nearest bomber flight aiming for the engines, wing roots and Mid fuselage as I go. I keep doing this Figure 8 attack until the flight is finished.

HORRIDO!
