I have an STB 4400 TNT card (AGP) and an STB "Blackmagic" VoodooII card:

1. DirectX 7.0a
2. 3dfx Dx7 drivers
3. Nvidia's 368 Detonator drivers

Had no problem running other applications but Mig Alley (1.1 "US") just doesn't like the combo.

If I select my primary card (TNT), the menu screens work great, but as soon as it begins to load a single mission (take your pick), I get the black screen of death BUT I can here the sounds perfectly (engine sounds, radio chatter, etc...)

If I select my VoodooII card, I get a lockup that only a hard boot will solve.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
If so, could this be the cause of so many CTD/lockup postings?

By the way, I had to remove my VoodooII from the Control Panel in order for MA to run...

Funny... I _am_ using a Voodoo II 8Mb alongside my Geforce. Newest Dx7 drivers for the V2 and 3.68 drivers for the Geforce. The _only_ thing that ever gave me trouble was having the desktop at 32 bit. Set it to 16 bit and it has been smooth sailing ever since.
There is a line about "Voodoo2 and TNT2 together:" in the readme, but I don't get what they are talking about...

I have a very similar system to yours and have no problems at all like the one's you describe.

The V2 DX7 drivers are beta and it shows. Go back to the DX6.1 drivers and your problems will most likely disapear. Be sure to reinstall DX7 after making video driver changes as this alone can cure many of the ills your describing.

I have an ASUS 6600 GeForce and an old Vodoo2 in my system, (W98SE, DX7a, latest ASUS 66-368 drivers and latest for the V2, SAITEK USB HOTAS w. latest SGE)I can see the menus with the geforce but I get a crash when trying to load a mission. With the V2 however I can see both menus AND load a mission. It does look like **** though in 800x600, so I'm gonna wait until I can run it on my GeForce.

Just installed the new "official" DX7 drivers from 3DFX and it cured the problem. So apparently the problem was created by the "Beta" drivers that I had loaded.

Even though, I'm running MA on my TNT card at the higher resolutions and it looks great.

As I had posted before in another thread, this sim was made to be run at resolutions higher than 800 x 600, period.

Now I only wish that they would allow user-addons (besides the nose art), such as skins and other additions. I would love to be able to fix the "cotton-ball" smoke trails...
